Someone once described me as similar to the oscillating fan in his car.

After I laughed at him for about 2 days, he explained what he meant - he said that he's always finding out things about me that he had no idea about, things I've done or been that he had not imagined - kind of like when he discovered the oscillating fan in his car.

Ok, that's a cool compliment. I'm sorry for laughing.

So, in the spirit of oscillating fans, here's some Catherine Trivia:

I grew up in rural Wisconsin and Minnesota, but I've also lived in India and Switzerland. I now live in the Chicago Suburbs where, ironically, I was also born

I use words like "Epistemology" in everyday conversation, but feel embarrassed when people look at me strangely.

I grew up drinking milk right from a cow, and eating venison instead of beef.

In a bathroom in Tokyo, I once met someone from my Minnesota hometown of 2000 people.

I was almost on the Oprah show, twice.

My resume includes the following jobs: Registered Nurses' Assistant (my 1st high school job!); Telemarketer; Waitress; Day Care Teacher; Au Pair; Admin Assistant; International Human Resources Consultant; Adjunct Professor

I've formally studied Bible/Theology, Religious Education, Intercultural Skills, Psychology, and Human Services Counseling. As a hobby, I love to study other cultures and world religions.

The only place I've ever skied is the Alps.

I was in labor with my son for 37 hours.

I have the cutest baby in the Whole Wide World.

I can't smell roses. Nothing at all.
