I love wine... beer too, but for some reason I feel less compelled to write about that. Maybe because BarleyScott just doesn't have that same ring to it ;)

I am an independent software developer (contractor) by day and have been for 13 years. I love the work, but love wine even more :) So, I started writing about the wines I drink hoping that I can find some way to transition my love for wine into a long term source of income (retirement job).

As I hinted at above, I actually consider myself more of a wine writer than a wine reviewer or critic. I try hard to avoid wine snobbery and try to use the posts as an opportunity to write about my life surrounding the wine as well as give my impression of the wine itself.

My wife, Grape Cat, helps me out a lot with the blog... she's an English Prof. so she keeps me honest :) and she takes the on-site photos when we go to wine destinations. My main man zimmytws hooks me up with all the wine pics. He's an excellent photog... check out his profile when you get a chance.
