When weather happens, I realize all over again how really small I am in the wide world - and it makes me even more grateful to belong to Jesus - can't have a better protetor than that!

Proverbs 19: 10-11
It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury
How much worse for a slave to rule over princes!

A man's wisdom gives him patience
it is to his glory to overlook an offense

The first verse made me think of all the ones in power of some kind or another that are not the brightest bulb in the pack - this first line is made for them! It isn't 'fitting' - but then, being the best qualified to do something is never a guarantee that you'll be the one doing it. The slaves over princes - can you imagine how that would play out? On both sides? The slave would have no clue how to rule, and the princes would not be able to accept orders from a slave - no - that would not work out at all!

The second verse - ah, here we see wisdom again - and this time it gives a person patience - and the wonderful ability to overlook an offense. If only I could make that a habit, rather than having that knee-jerk reaction and shooting back in kind when I get offended. Wisdom is the do-all of character traits - no wonder God keeps going back to it!
