that Hanna is coming....with high winds a big time rain. Right now it is 9 am my time - and it is warm outside, and really humid - but....the earlier rain has stopped and the sun is out!

How totally weird that seems to me! The sky is uniformly grey however, so I think the sunshine is just a teaser - and that the weather will get worse. Last I heard it was supposed to pass through the Hampton Roads area around 2 pm.

Yesterday we made all the preparation we could. Took everything off the deck, put it in the studio - along with the gazebo canopy (I know that won't make it through any kind of wind). It looks rather bare out there - but that's a good thing.

We bought a supply of water, and batteries - have the flashlights, and two oil lamps. We should not need these, as we have one of those huge whole house generators sitting outside the house - which, if the power goes, will run most of our house power and the air conditioning. We've had this thing since right after Isabel, and have only had it kick on a couple of times when the power here went off for no apparent reason. This will be a test, if we do have a big power failure.

I did all the wash, made the communion bread for Sunday church, did everything I could ahead of time, so that we wouldn't be caught saying "I wish I had done that...."

So, today is a totally free day! I plan on being on here (or the laptop if I have to move to another room because of the power (the office is not on the generator list - Mama's room was originally our office so that one is on it, but not this).

So...I thought I would give a play by play of the tropical storm action from here....or lack thereof - that would be nice too!
