So, the last blog post I wrote here I said how I'd not gotten the job that I'd really wanted. The sweet thing is that the person I interviewed with there really liked me - she'd just gone with someone who had more print experience than I did.

But she called me a few days later and let me know about an opportunity at another company - a company she used to work for and still had friends at - and she thought I'd be a great fit over there. So I sent everything in and tried not to get my hopes up. again.

And waited.

And waited.

And gave up.

And then got an email to set up an interview. WOOHOO! So, we set up an interview for last Monday (Oct. 20). Email Friday morning saying let's do a second interview with more folks. Cool. That was Tuesday, Oct 28, and they said it'd be a week before I heard back.

Now, I've been through all of this multiple times since July of 2007. I'm afraid to get my hopes up again. It's just been too many times - including once when I was told repeatedly "This is a formality, I already know I want to hire you" only to never hear back from that company again.

But Wednesday morning?

No phone call.

Email - offering me the position. I start November 5, the day after my birthday. What a wonderful birthday present!

(And hopefully the country will give me another present on my 40th birthday ... hopefully my dude gets elected president. Heh)
